This agreement explains what information we hold about you when you use the Brainoid IO app and your Brainoid account, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and your rights. Brainoid Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”) is responsible for it. How this website treats visits and emails is in our website privacy notice.
Your content stays on your Mac
Your workspaces, notes, recordings, transcripts, chats and memory are stored on your Mac, not on our servers. AI that runs on your Mac processes them there.
Your content leaves your Mac only along a route you choose for a workspace: a cloud AI model you allow, Telegram for your AI Employee, or web search when a task needs it. When you use cloud AI through your Brainoid membership, what you send passes through our service to the provider you chose so that it can answer. We do not keep the request or the answer.
What we hold about you
- Your sign-in: which service you sign in with (Google, GitHub or Apple, as offered), the identifier it gives us for you, your email address, and your name if that service shares it.
- Your account type: personal or organisation, and when you chose it.
- The agreements you accepted: which agreement, which version, and when.
- Your membership: your membership tier, your cloud AI credit balance and its history, including what each cloud AI request cost and which provider served it.
- Payments: what you bought, when, and the amount. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not receive your full card details.
- Server logs: our servers record requests made to them (the address a request came from, the time and what was requested) to keep the service running and secure.
What we never do
- We never use your data to train AI models.
- We never give you an advertising ID: no ads, no tracking identifier, no profile of you.
- We do not sell your information.
Why we use it
We use this information to run your account and the service (our contract with you), to keep the records the law requires, such as payment records (a legal obligation), and to keep the service secure and working (our legitimate interests).
Who else handles it
- The service you sign in with handles your sign-in under its own privacy terms.
- Stripe handles payments under its own privacy terms.
- The company that hosts our servers stores this information for us.
- A cloud AI provider you choose receives what you send it, under its own terms.
Some of them may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the law requires.
How long we keep it
- Account, sign-in and membership information: while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete this information within 30 days.
- Agreement acceptances and payment records: for as long as the law requires, or as long as we need them to show what was agreed or paid, usually up to six years after your account closes.
- Server logs: for a limited period, then deleted.
Your rights
Under data protection law you may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a form you can take elsewhere. You may also object to how we use it. Write to contact@brainoid.co.uk. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Brainoid IO is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly hold information about anyone younger.
New versions
Each version of this agreement has the version number shown at the top. When we publish a new version, the app asks you to accept it before you carry on.
